Shevet 13

Your Journey Begins Here

Bar Mitzvah Boy

Turning 13 isn't just a birthday. It's the beginning of a new chapter.

For over 3,000 years, Jewish boys have marked the age of thirteen by stepping into greater responsibility, purpose, and connection to their heritage. Becoming a Bar Mitzvah means joining an unbroken chain stretching back to Mount Sinai and becoming an active part of the Jewish story.

Whether you've always imagined celebrating at the Kotel in Jerusalem or with family and friends here in Australia, Shevet 13 helps make that journey meaningful, personal, and unforgettable.

What Is Shevet 13?

Shevet 13 is more than a Bar Mitzvah course. It's a journey designed specifically for boys approaching this important milestone.

Through interactive sessions, hands-on experiences, discussions, challenges, and shared adventures, participants explore what it means to become a Jewish adult while building confidence, knowledge, and lifelong friendships.

Along the way they discover:

  • The meaning of becoming a Bar Mitzvah
  • The story and values of the Jewish people
  • How to put on Tefillin
  • How synagogue services work
  • The significance of Torah reading
  • Jewish responsibility, leadership, and identity
