A Bat Mitzvah is a special milestone a time for a young woman to discover her strengths, deepen her Jewish identity, and prepare for the next stage of life.
At Chabad Byron Shire, we offer a unique Bat Mitzvah Program adapted from a successful program developed in the United States. Through six engaging sessions, girls explore Jewish values, friendships, self-confidence, and the changes that come with adolescence, while learning about the unique role of Jewish women in shaping their families, communities, and future generations.
Designed especially for this age group, the program combines meaningful discussions, creative activities, and beautiful keepsakes that girls take home along the way.
Friendships That Last
One of the most meaningful parts of the program is the friendships that develop along the way. Many girls meet other Jewish girls from across Byron Shire for the very first time and form connections that continue long after the program has ended. What begins as a Bat Mitzvah program often becomes a circle of friendship, support, and shared Jewish identity.
A Personal Connection
In addition to the group sessions, each Bat Mitzvah girl and her mother meet privately with the Rebbetzin to explore the girl’s Torah portion and its relevance to her own life. These meetings create a special opportunity for mothers and daughters to reflect together on this important stage of life while preparing for the Bat Mitzvah celebration.
Together, they also prepare a personal speech, reflection, or Dvar Torah that the Bat Mitzvah girl can share with family and friends.
Celebrating the Occasion
Families may choose to celebrate their Bat Mitzvah during the week or on Shabbat at Chabad Byron Shire. Family members can be called to the Torah in honor of the Bat Mitzvah girl, and she shares words of Torah and personal reflections from her journey.
Kosher catering can also be arranged for these celebrations, creating a warm and memorable experience for family and friends.
